El Valle Holiday Resort & local area - Beautiful Beaches and Excellent Tapas
From the sunny Mediterranean beaches and the Mar Menor to the attractive landscapes in the inland areas, the area around El Valle has plenty to offer the visitor.
The city of Murcia, with it's stunning architecture, gothic and baroque monuments and grand Cathedral is only 10 kilometres away and well worth exploring it's many squares, pavement cafes, busy high street and of course the shopping experience of El Cortes Ingles. The Region's capital also offers an excellent range of music, opera, theatre and ballet - and, of course, the best local and international food.
For the children near the centre of Murcia is Aqua Natura, part of Terra Natura, an aqua park and zoo.
The ancient port of Cartagena, about a 30 minute drive, is also of historic interest with it's 3000 year history of changing cultures and conquering nations, there are Roman ruins, temples, thermal baths and a spectacular Roman theatre, plenty to do for a day out.
And, if staying by the pool is not enough, the beautiful shallow waters of the Mar Menor lagoon are only a 20 minute drive away and an ideal place for learning to sail, windsurf or water-ski at one of the local sailing schools The georgeous beachs of the Costa Calida are marvelous for swimming, snorkeling and scuba-diving.
There are plenty of nearby towns to visit each offering their own individual charm, Torre Pacheco is typically Spanish with it's quaint squares, wealth of restaurants and bars to sample, and, Los Alcazares (about 15 minutes away), has everything to offer the Spanish holidaymaker with it's numerous beach bars, restaurants and even thermal baths which have been there since Roman times.
